Hi Susan,
First, I just looked at your profile, and I'd love to meet you. I love rummaging! As for speaking in your situation, there are a few things to remember.

First, the audience or group will be just as nervous as you. They will be happy to discover that you are human, so don't stress about high expectations. Nobody will be out to make you look bad. (I'm not being sarcastic; I've actually spoken to a group of people who were out to prove I didn't know what I was talking about. Be glad you won't be!)

Having said that, do not say that you are nervous or apologize for anything. Even if you've forgotten something like a handout, etc., don't apologize. It will only make you and them uncomfortable.

Next, there is a big tip that everyone could use: Even though you won't be giving a scripted presentation, plan some transition lines ahead of time. I don't know your exact situation, but plan ahead
1)an opening or intro
2)transitions from one topic to another
3) a way to wrap things up.

This prevents awkward moments like "Um, er, I guess now we should ..."
